The Berlin Bottling Works building, a former carriage house/garage, displays ice harvesting equipment from the days of ice boxes are part of the collection in this building. Early print shop equipment, when pages were set one letter at a time, round out this building’s displays.
On the grounds in front of this building is the life-sized metal sculpture of an Indian brave representing all the First Nation peoples who lived here before us. Created by well-known metal sculptor Mark Fischer, of the Oneida Turtle Clan, its symbolism honors the universal Indian. A story board located next to the monument tells its story. The sale of the book “The Story of the Mascouten Nation and of its Massacre” by 19th century author, Edmund Runal paid for the monument.
